Advertising Standards Authority a emis pe 1 martie 2011 un proiect legislativ prin care isi extinde regulile asupra noilor medii de comunicare, printre care si socia media. Sunt aduse unele mici modificari si modului in care este reglementata comunicare prin email.

Doua dintre cele mai importate modificari propuse de Advertising Standards Authority suna asa:

  • “marketing communications must not falsely claim or imply that the marketer is acting as a consumer or for purposes outside its trade, business, craft or profession; marketing communications must make clear their commercial intent, if that is not obvious from the context.”
  • “makes clear that email marketing campaign subject lines will need to be adapted to make the material recognisable as marketing content.”
